Pharma-Jelly Net is non adherent wound dressing, made of polyester mesh impregnated in soft, non adherent matrix, containing superabsorbent powder, soft paraffin and, cohesion polymers.
- Painless and atraumatic removal:
Superabsorbent particles absorb exudates and turn to gel. This allows easy removal without pain or trauma.
Soft paraffin also shows non adherent effect which synergizes with Superabsorbent particles action.
- بيئة الشفاء المثلى:
Superabsorbent particles gel upon absorption of wound exudates. This provides dry but moist environment which enhances wound healing.
- Flexible and Conformable, so it can be applied on difficult to access wound sites.
- Sterile by gamma irradiation.
- Sealed in peelable PET/Alu pouches..
Pharma-Jelly Net is used as primary wound dressing for its non adherent effect and to provide moist environment for better wound healing. It’s suitable for:
1. Low to moderate exuding acute wounds:
- Minor burns.
- خدوش الجلد.
- Traumatic wounds.
- Skin grafts and donor sites.
2. Low to moderate exuding chronic wounds:
- Leg and pressure ulcers.
- Venous ulcers.
- Decubitus ulcers.
Pharma-Jelly Net should be covered with secondary absorbent dressing e.g. ESPUMA® Adhesive or Pharmapad®
- In the case of deep wounds, Pharma-Jelly Net does not have to be applied in several layers.
- Don’t use in case of sensitivity to any of the product ingredients.
• Generally the dressing could left in place up to 7 days, depending on exudates level and clinical
condition of the wound.
• For Epidermolysis bullosa patients, the dressing should be changed every 1 to 3 days.
- Paraffinic components have non polar fatty nature, so they do not adhere with the polar protenaceous exudates.
- Hydrocolloid particles absorb exudates and turn to gel which provides optimum moist environment that enhances wound healing. Furthermore, it aids non adherence due to synergestic action between gel and paraffinic components.
- The polyester net allows the passage of exudates to be absorbed by the absorbent layer, so excess exudates do not have time to dry at the wound bed.
• Cleanse the wound as per local procedures, then rinse with saline solution.
• Dry the surrounding skin carefully.
• Pharmajelly can be cut to fit the wound area and shape, if required.
• Choose a dressing which is slightly larger than the wound.
• Remove the dressing’s protective liner.
• Apply the dressing in intimate contact with the wound base, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
• Cover with a secondary dressing suitable for the level of wound exudate.
• Then cover with an appropriate retention bandage. The retention bandage shouldn’t be occlusive, so as
not to hinder breathability of the dressing.
• Generally the dressing could left in place up to 7 days, depending on exudates level and clinical condition of the wound.
• For Epidermolysis bullosa patients, the dressing should be changed every 1 to 3 days.
• To remove Pharmajelly, use tweezers, forceps or a gloved hand to gently lift the dressing away.
