Pharmapore® PU I.V. The dressing consists of a pad placed centrally on transparent, breathable, virus-proof,bacteria-proof and waterproof polyurethane film with an incision along the middle for catheter and cannula fixation.

• Decreases risk of infection: as PU film is waterproof, bacteria-proof and virus-proof.

• Transparent: which allows continuous visibility of the I.V. insertion site.

 

The IV variants are used for catheter and cannula fixation and securement.

Es gibt keine absoluten Gegenanzeigen für die Verwendung der Produkte, allerdings sollten sie nicht bei Patienten mit einer bekannten Empfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Produkt oder seinen Bestandteilen angewandt werden.

• Reuse of the product increases risk of infection or cross-contamination.
• Als kontaminierten Abfall entsorgen.
• The dressing should not be used with highly exuding wounds as it may cause tissue maceration.
• The dressing should not be used on patients with known sensitivity to acrylic adhesive.
• The dressing should not be used on full thickness wounds and third degree burns. It can be applied on infected wounds only under medical supervision.
• The skin should be clear and dry before application to ensure good adhesion.

Generally the dressing could left in place up to 7 days.

1. Open the pouch using aseptic technique. In case of Pharmapore® PU I.V., hold the dressing at either
side of the wave cut and stretch the support paper a little to loosen the wave cut.
2. Remove the larger flap of the release liner to expose the adhesive surface.
3. Place the dressing on the injection site. Remove the lower flaps.
4. In case of Pharmapore® PU I.V., slowly remove the upper support paper while smoothing down the
transparent film dressing edges.

    Pharmapore® PU IV has a unique molecular structure which is significantly more permeable to water vapour than ordinary films. This prevents the accumulation of moisture underneath the dressing associated with bacterial growth and reduces the risk of catheter-related infection.

    The higher permeability of Pharmapore® PU IV keeps the skin drier so improving dressing adherence and reducing the frequency of dressing changes.

    The highly conformable Pharmapore® PU IV film allows the patient to move freely and yet will remain firmly adhered around the catheter hub so ensuring excellent fixation.

    Convenient visual inspection

    Pharmapore® PU IV is transparent and so allows regular inspection of the catheter insertion site for signs of infection or phlebitis without the need for dressing removal.

  • How To Use

    Step (1): Open sealed pouch and take the dressing then remove protector paper.

    Step (2): Position the dressing with the catheter port sitting in the circular aperture and adhere the dressing over catheter insertion site and over wings of the catheter.

    Step (3): Remove support paper.

    Step (4): Mould the film around the catheter to complete dressing application.
