ESPUMA® C Comfort Lipo is placed as an island pad on a breathable, waterproof, bacteria proof and viral proof polyurethane adhesive border to allow contains odor adsorptive carbon layer. fixation without secondary dressing or fixation tape
• Healing in moist environment:
Hydrocolloid particles gel upon absorption of wound exudates, creating moist environment that promotes wound healing.
• Painless and atraumatic removal:
Due to its fatty, yet non-greasy, nature, together with the gel formation property upon exudates contact, Lipo- colloid dressings’ removal is painless and atraumatic for the wound.
• Absorbent:
When laminated to PU foam or non-woven absorbent layer , the dressing manages different level of exudates.
• Instant absorption:
Exudates easily pass to the absorbent layer through the lipo-colloid mesh openings.
• Exudates retained even under pressure:
The absorbent layer can keep the absorbed exudates even under compression; this prevents maceration and retains a humid surface environment to facilitate wound healing.
• Highly conformable:
The dressing is very soft and conformable, so it conforms to wound contours.
• Promote fast healing by stimulating fibroblasts proliferation.
ESPUMA® Lipo and ESPUMA® Comfort Lipo families are used as a primary dressing for chronic wounds (leg
ulcers, pressure ulcers…) and acute wounds (burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds…).
Don’t use in case of sensitivity to any of the product ingredients.
•For all the Non-adhesive variants, the Lipo-Colloid layer can adhere to Latex surgical gloves, so it’s preferred to moisten the gloves with saline or use sterile tweezers to facilitate handling of the dressing.
•The product is non-occlusive, so it could be used over infected wounds under medical supervision, and
the dressing must be changed daily.
•In case of development of skin irritation, erythema or over granulation, please consult your healthcare giver.
•The product is sterile, don’t use if the pouch is damaged.
•The product is a single use device, re-use may lead to the risk of infection.
•Don’t use in a hyperbaric chamber.
1. Paraffinic components have non-polar fatty nature, so they do not adhere with the polar protenaceous exudates.
2. Hydrocolloid particles absorb exudates and turn to gel which provides optimum moist environment that promotes wound healing. Furthermore, it aids non-adherence due to synergistic action between gel and paraffinic components.
3. The polyester net allows the passage of exudates to be absorbed by the absorbent layer, so excess exudates do not have time to dry at the wound bed.
• Cleanse the wound as per local procedures, then rinse with saline solution.
• Dry the surrounding skin carefully.
• Lipo-Colloid Non-adhesive dressings can be cut to fit the wound area and shape, if required.
• Choose a dressing which is slightly larger than the wound.
• Remove the dressing’s protective liner.
• Apply the dressing in intimate contact with the wound base, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
• In case of all Non-adhesive variants, cover the dressing with an appropriate retention bandage. The
retention bandage shouldn’t be occlusive, so as not to hinder breathability of the dressing.
• Generally the dressing could left in place up to 7 days, depending on exudates level and clinical
condition of the wound.
• For Epidermolysis bullosa patients, the dressing should be changed every 1 to 3 days.
• To remove Lipo-Colloid Non-adhesive dressings, use tweezers, forceps or a gloved hand to gently lift the
dressing away
