InciFilm Iodine – Theatre Incise Drape.
Incifilm Iodine Incise Drape is a yellowish coloured, transparent, adhesive Polyurethare film whichallows the skin to
breath, preventing moisture build-up under the drape. As a result adheres to the surrounding skin throughout long

Antimicrobial effect is due to the presence of diatomic elemental form of iodine (free iodine). It is believed that iodine precipitates the proteins of microorganisms by forming salts via direct halogenation. Approximately 90% of iodine, absorbed by bacterial cells, reappears as iodide, thus confirming oxidative interaction as the major bactericidal mechanism of topical iodine.
1.Disinfect the operative site according to the health care facility policy and allow the prepped skin to dry.
2.Hold the drape with the handle facing up. Position hands at the outer edges of the handles for best results.
3.While one person holds the handle the other person holds the opposite handle to begin removing the liner.
4.Position the drape on patient to cover the prepped surgical site, begin removing the liner.
5. Using a sterile towel, press down firmly on the film, first contacting the skin along the intended incision line to ensure good skin contact. Firmly smooth film into place without tension, working away from the intended incision line to achieve wrinkle free adhesion.
6. Remove the rest of the liner and discard.
7. To remove drape, gently peel back drape at 180-degree angle from the skin. This means folding the film back on itself and maintaining that angle while pulling the film away from the skin. During the removal process, hold onto the film with the thumb and hand as close as possible to the junction of skin and adhesive film. This prevents severe stretching. Skin of elderly patients is typically fragile and thus requires even greater care when applying and removing adhesive products such as drapes.
