Pharmapore® PU I.V. frame style: Film dressing without pad having frame style delivery system for easier application.
• Transparent: which allows continuous visibility of the I.V. insertion site.
The IV variants are used for catheter and cannula fixation and securement.
There are no absolute contra-indications to the use of the products, but don’t use on patients with known sensitivity to the product or any of its components.
• Reuse of the product increases risk of infection or cross-contamination.
• Dispose as a contaminated waste.
• The dressing should not be used with highly exuding wounds as it may cause tissue maceration.
• The dressing should not be used on patients with known sensitivity to acrylic adhesive.
• The dressing should not be used on full thickness wounds and third degree burns. It can be applied on infected wounds only under medical supervision.
• The skin should be clear and dry before application to ensure good adhesion.
Generally the dressing could left in place up to 7 days.
1. Open the pouch using aseptic technique and remove the central window.
2. In case of securing a cannula, take off the fixation strips and secure the wings of the cannula on either side.
3. Peel off the larger flap to expose the adhesive surface, then gently center the transparent area of the
dressing over the insertion site, so that the U shaped slit secures the catheter or the cannula, and the
other side of the dressing covers the plastic arm of the cannula/catheter.
4. Remove the smaller flap while applying the dressing and then slowly remove the paper frame while soothing down the edges.
5. In case of securing a catheter, remove the fixation strips from the release liner and place it on the
dressing or on the catheter, according to facility protocol.
6. Document patient’s data on the skin colored label (if present).
