Pharmapore® eXsorb Carbon : is Island dressing made of  superabsorbent hydrocapillary pad with carbon felt laminated to a low-adherent wound contact layer that allows the passage of the exudates to the pad, and having an adhesive border. Upon absorption of exudates, the dressing forms a soft hydrophilic gel that locks away bacteria and harmful proteases, reducing risk of infection and maceration. the pad placed centrally on a non-woven backing material for patients with sensitive skin.

1. High Absorption capacity: Where it absorbs wound exudates and locks it inside the formed gel so prevents skin maceration.
2. Conformable and Soft: It conforms to wound contours due to Gel formation which prevents adherence of the dressing to the newly formed tissues
3. Fewer dressing changes: Minimizing treatment costs and disturbance to the wound.
4. Reduction of Bioburden: as it locks away bacteria and harmful proteases which promotes healing.
5. Suitable for use under compression.

Beingeschwüre, Druckgeschwüre, diabetische Geschwüre, oberflächliche Verbrennungen zweiten Grades, postoperative Wunden.

Carbon Behandlung von übelriechenden akuten oder chronischen Wunden.

• Nicht auf Augen, Schleimhäuten oder Sehnen anwenden, da ansonsten das Risiko einer Dehydrierung besteht.
• Nicht Höhlen oder den Sinussen anwenden, da der Verband infolge seiner Saugfähigkeit anschwillt.
• Nicht auf trockenen/gering exsudierenden Wunden anwenden, da der Verband aufgrund seiner Saugfähigkeit auf der Wunde kleben oder die Wunde austrocknen und infolgedessen schmerzen kann.
• Nicht bei Patienten mit bekannter Allergie gegen Acrylstoffe anwenden.
• Nicht als chirurgischen Schwamm oder zum Stillen von starken Blutungen verwenden.
• Nicht auf infizierten Wunden anwenden, ausgenommen unter medizinischer Aufsicht.

Nach der Absorption der Exsudate bildet der Verband ein weiches hydrophiles Gel, das Bakterien und gefährliche Proteasen abhält, was das Infektions- und Mazerationsrisiko senkt.
