Pharmapore® IV Gentle: Soft conformable nonwoven layer, coated with silicone adhesive and absorbent wound pad placed at the center, having U shaped slit. The structure allows easy fixation of catheters and cannula.

IV silicone dressings are designed for cannula and catheter fixation, allowing atraumatic removal or dressing change without exposing the patient to additional pain.

• Dressings should not be used on people who are allergic to the dressing or any of its components.

• Dressings are not intended for use within internal body cavities.
• If infection develops during the use of the dressing, consult a health care professional for adequate infection treatment.
• Sterility is guaranteed unless pouch is damaged.
• Multiple use increase the risk of infection.

• Dressing may remain on the wound for up to 7 days.
• Dressing may be removed when wound is about to close.
• The dressing should be removed when clinically indicated.
• Irrigate with saline if residual dressing is left on the wound.

1. Open the pouch using aseptic technique. In case of Pharmapore® PU I.V. Gentle, hold the dressing at either side of the wave cut and stretch the
support paper a little to loosen the wave cut.
2. Remove the larger flap of the release liner to expose the adhesive surface.
3. Place the dressing on the insertion site, so that the U shaped slit secures the catheter or the cannula. Remove the lower flaps.
4. In case of Pharmapore® PU I.V. Gentle, slowly remove the upper support paper while smoothing down the transparent film dressing edges.

    Description

    ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort is absorbent, polyurethane foam laminated with perforated soft silicone gel wound contact layer which extends beyond the perimeter of foam to allow easy fixation without adhesive tapes or fixation dressing and provide atraumatic dressing removal. The outermost layer of the dressing is polyurethane non-woven bilaminate which is waterproof, bacteria proof and virus proof.

    Features
    • Gentle soft Silicone gel allows atraumatic dressing removal.
    • Pattern coated silicone or perforated silicone film, allow free passage of wound exudate to the foam so prevents skin maceration.
    • High absorption capacity polyurethane foam also provides a cushioning effect.
    • Highly breathable top sheet allows evaporation of absorbed exudates, thus it enhances fluid handling capacity of the dressing.
    • Being waterproof, the top sheet prevents strike through and allows showering while the dressing is in place.
    Indications

    ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort is suitable for dressing many types of exuding wounds including leg and pressure ulcers, surgical incisions and traumatic wounds resulting in skin loss, also may be used under compression bandaging.

    Contraindications

    Do not use ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort dressings with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide, as these can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing.

     

    Precaution

    In case of infection, ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort still can be used but under medical supervision and with antimicrobial conjunctive therapy.

    Frequency of Change

    The interval between dressing changes will normally be determined by the degree of exudate produced but the dressing may be left undisturbed for several days on clean lightly exuding wounds.

    How supplied

    ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort is supplied individually wrapped in heat sealable package, sterilized by ethylene oxide.

  • How To Use

    1. Clean and dry the wound thoroughly
    2. Remove the release liner from the silicone wound contact layer
    3. A dressing should be selected that overlaps the wound margin by at least two centimeters.
    4. In case of ESPUMA® Gentle Comfort, do not cut to size, ESPUMA®Gentle Comfort doesn’t need any retention aid or fixation dressing.
